Konishiki Yasokichi, or 'The dump truck', was the first foreign-born Sumo wrestler to reach the second-most prestigious rank of ozeki. Konishiki was once widely expected to be the first foreign-born Sumo wrestler to reach the most prestigious rank of yokozuna. But life got in the way.
